A few words

Born in France, Annie Cicatelli lived in Brazil during 25 years. Journalist by education and photograph by heart, she was reporter, redactor and editor for 15 years in Brazilian press, and was granted with the major national media prize in 1986.

In 1987, Annie came back to France and focused on photography. Several exhibitions were then organized around her work between 1989 an 1998 : Paris and the Revolution (1989); Hats or portraits of unknowns (1994); Vitória beyond limits (1995); African Cinema Festival (1995).

It is in the end of 1997 that Annie finally decided to dedicate herself totally to cross stitch. She had already set up in 1985 in Brazil an atelier for young unemployed women to sell handmade products: embroidery, sewing, patchwork, knitting; etc...

But now, Annie concentrates on designing her own patterns: first the carpets, then the azulejos and faience, followed by ethnic fabrics, jewels, illumination...

All collections Annie presents are the result of a deep study and analysis of local and regional culture she wants to pay tribute to: by proposing these exquisite designs, she invites us to her journeys around time and world.
